Well, the strike is on.
Very little traffic today, just a few rickshaws running. Schools are all closed, all shops were
closed. Surprisingly, most of the kids
in the two classes we did not see yesterday showed up, and we were done by
12:30. Back at full strength, as John W.
was back today.
After finishing the first school, we had lunch and packed up
for the move to the second school. The
strike will continue tomorrow, so we will see whoever shows up. We got setup done around 3 pm, so had some
time off, which was nice. Of course, no
shopping to do, so went back to the hotel for some relaxation.
Before dinner, the entire team got together to just visit
about the trip, what they were experiencing and feeling, a very good meeting. This has turned into one team, not an Omaha
group and a Norfolk group, but one very, very good group of workers.
In our international dinner tour, we ate Chinese. Great restaurant, ordered a
bunch on items and passed them around.
Tomorrow afternoon we will say goodbye to Carla, Celeste,
Amanda and Linda, as they head to Bangalore for a day with Jeeva., then flying
back on Saturday. Provided the strike
ends on Thursday, we will have a full group of students Friday, so will work
hard on seeing them till early afternoon, then hopefully some sightseeing for the Flatland group before leaving late Friday night for their
Saturday return.
We are all actively watching the weather forecast for
Nebraska and wondering how it will affect our return flights. It seems kind of cold there, around 90 here
today!!
Saturday will be finishing up any kids we don’t see Thursday
and Friday…yes, they have school Saturday morning here.
By the way, my lost bag arrived. Chocolate for everyone!!
Stan
